RRR host, Roy Forbes, is joined once again by the amazing Lark Clark for a fundraising show full of fave Triple-R Radio 45s. You’ll hear from such RRR regulars as Michel Pagliaro, the Staples Singers, the Checkerlads, the Equals (with Eddy Grant), Dusty Springfield, Wes Dakus & the Rebels, Bob & Lucille (the Canadian Sweethearts), Nancy Sinatra, Wilson Pickett, and more.

Spring Fundraising Shellac Shack Shuffle

Roy is touring Alberta this weekend with shows in Red Deer, Calgary and Edmonton.

Since he happens to be in Edmonton on Sunday, April 24th, Roy will be hosting Roy’s Record Room live from the CKUA Edmonton studio along with co-host Lark Clark, who also happens to be in that fine Alberta town.

It’s party time on Triple-R Radio as Roy celebrates sixteen years of RRR on CKUA. He’ll be running at all three speeds with platters from Toots & The Maytals, Chuck Berry, the Rolling Stones (covering Chuck Berry), the Beatles, Janis Martin, Wanda Jackson, Randy Newman, Moon Mullican, and many more.

Roy Gets Covered

A two-hour special on CKCU’s ‘Canadian Spaces’

A while back, Roy was chatting with Chris White, host of the long-running folk show, Canadian Spaces (CKCU, Ottawa). They talked about playing a few recordings of Roy’s songs by other artists on the show. It turns out there have been quite a few over the years. By the end of the call, after putting together a tentative playlist, they decided to do a two-hour special on the subject.

So, on Saturday, April 2nd, 10am to noon ET, tune in to Canadian Spaces for a listen to some outstanding interpretations of Roy’s songs from the likes of Hart Rouge, Susan Jacks, Matt Minglewood, Sylvia Tyson, Garnet Rogers, Shari Ulrich, Valdy, Tony Trischka & Skyline, the Great Western Orchestra (with Cindy Church), Laurie Lewis, Tracey Brown, Heather Bishop, Suzie Vinnick,  Shaye Zadravec, Jef Leeson and Shawn Colvin.

Throughout the program, which spans the years 1975 to 2021, Roy reacts to the performances and tells a few stories along the way.
